Moving music from your iPod to your Macbook

For all students that have music on an iPod, but are not allowed to use their iPod in class, the computer lab is now offering a music transfer service.  Simply bring your iPod and a flash drive large enough to hold your music down to the computer lab.  We will copy the music to the flash drive for you, so you can load it onto your Macbook/iTunes.  Be aware, if you have a large amount of music you might have to leave your iPod with us and return later to pick it up.

The After School Computer Program is now accepting applications.  You can receive the application form by clicking this link ASCP Application.  The form has details on what days the program occurs, hourly wages, and other details.  Please fill it out and email it to me if you are interested (click on my name on the right, under contact info, if you don't know my email address).  Also, be aware that if you have never worked for the school before, you will need to fill out a general application available from Mrs. Willcox.  We are working on digitizing that form, but for now you will need to get it from her in person and fill it out by hand.  When it has been digitized, I will post it here.

Adding programs to your macbook

If you want a program added to your Macbook, it must first be approved.  To get a program approved, download the following file Macbook Customization Form and fill it out.  Once you've filled it out and saved it, email it to me using your school email account.  My email address is rostrander@thecenterschool.com or you can just click my name in the contact info to the right.  Once you have submitted your request, the school will review it.  I will email you if it is approved and we will schedule a time to install it for you.

Return of the Macbook Airs

With the Macbook airs now redone, make sure to pick yours up from the Computer Lab.  All high school student laptops are available to be picked up immediately.   7th and 8th grade students can pick up their systems on Monday during 8th period.

For those that are wondering what changes have been made to the computer, we have done the following:

*Updated the applications, including iTunes and Garage Band (but not the OS, still 10.7 Lion)
*Improved the application permissions, making it easier to install new software.
*Improved the firewall, allowing you to access secure sites.
*Added your a school email account, accessible from the Outlook program in the dock.

Remember, if you would like to have access to a blocked site or a specific application, please request an application.  I will be posting it here soon, but they are available now if you stop by the lab.
